Correcting CRC Health Disparities

Correcting CRC Health Disparities

with Khaleed Alston, ND

The recent passing of Chadwick Boseman has caused many patients and clinicians to rethink their approach to colorectal cancer screening and prevention. Chadwick’s passing from colorectal cancer at age 39 was a shock to many, as he was a young, healthy man of color who also happened to be a superhero (Black Panther). While his story is heartbreaking, it unfortunately isn’t uncommon as individuals in the Black community are 20% more likely to get colorectal cancer and about 40% more likely to die from it than most other groups. In this conversation we will explore both causes and solutions for colorectal cancer health disparities.
