GI & Autoimmunity Intersection

Jenny Bennett, ND

Somewhere between 70 – 85% of our immune system resides in our GI tract. So it’s no surprise that changes in GI function and inflammatory changes in the gut can be triggers for systemic and local autoimmune diseases.

In this presentation, we will cover an overview of how the GI function is related to autoimmunity through microbiome interactions, food and dietary interactions, and disruption of digestion and absorption.

We will cover recent research, clinical observations and management and treatment of autoimmune diseases through improving GI function.
