Hello, I’m a centered heading on a transparent blue background

I’m created using “Sections”. It’s the switch to the upper right when you are in the WordPress Editor.

DISCLAIMER: COLORS, TEXT AND IMAGES ARE TO HELP VISUALIZE SECTIONS AND TECHNIQUES.

I don’t suggest these colors combos, etc. in real life.

I’ve even got some images going on

While in the Editor, click on the little gear to the right. That takes you to settings. Select background image. Unsplash.com has lots. For free. No really, free.

More text

Because hey, who doesn’t like writing about stuff? WordPress was originally made for bloggers. It’s still great for laying down paragraphs.

You have all the text tools available:

  • Lists
  • more lists
  • I really like lists!

Quotes

Alignment.

Most of the time, it’s fairly easy to set up an image next to text. (This is heading 3 btw)

Click on the image. You will see a flyout that shows rectangles with differing lines around them. These set the alignment. This one has the image left-aligned and text wraps around it. I can keep typing to demonstrate: text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text.

These may display differently if you are on mobile or have a narrow browser window.

The next one is right-aligned.

More text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text…. you get the point.

This is heading 5 and the following is set to have text both above and below it. Great if you’ve got a big, big photo.

It can help to put in the text after the image

before setting the alignment.
