Officers

Anastasia Stocker, ND, LAc: President

Dr. Anastasia Stocker received her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and Master of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at Bastyr University in Seattle, WA. Previous to Bastyr, she received a Bachelor of Science in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology at the University of California, Santa Cruz. This multidisciplinary academic career has forged her health philosophy: Dr. Stocker believes healing should be an integration of evidence based science and traditional natural medicine.

Dr. Stocker’s clinical interests include digestive wellness, environmental medicine, women’s health, and physical medicine. She believes that our digestive system is the foundation of human health and that its optimization can improve all of the body’s systems and our overall well-being. She has observed that gastrointestinal dysfunction and environmental toxicity are the basis of autoimmune disease, leading to her emphasis on the topic. She is interested in autoimmune diseases and using her clinical experience in managing complex cases while utilizing integrative approaches. She is passionate about intersecting naturopathic medicine with acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, visceral, and craniosacral therapies to facilitate lasting improvements in patients with acute and chronic disease.

Robert W. Brody, ND, MS, FABNG is a naturopathic physician and Fellow of the American Board of Naturopathic Gastroenterologists. A former adjunct professor at the University of Bridgeport College of Naturopathic Medicine, he has designed and taught multiple courses in gastroenterology and generative medicine. His clinical focus integrates personalized nutrition, microbiome balance, and functional gastroenterology within a whole-person insurance based medical model.

Tara Shelby, ND, LM: Secretary

Dr. Shelby is honored to be a board-certified Naturopathic Physician and Licensed Midwife who graduated from Bastyr University in 2008. She is currently the founder and owner of an ever-growing integrative medical clinic named Village Medicine in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle, Washington.

Dr. Shelby specializes in full spectrum primary care with a clinical focus in gastroenterology and the human microbiome, women’s health, hormonal balancing, chronic illness and autoimmune disorders.

Dr. Shelby believes that the best doctors are those who serve as ambassadors of information and who take the time to consult, engage, and empower patients. She works in relational-based collaboration with her patients so that they are active participants throughout the process of their own healing and in the development of their meticulous treatment plans

Dr. Shelby’s journey into medicine began as a very sick young patient who intuitively believed that there was something beyond what she was experiencing with her physicians, medications, and surgeries. After surviving what could have been viewed as a devastating diagnosis, something awakened within her. What was considered “chronic illness” suddenly became what gave her life deep purpose and meaning. It was the healing power of illness!

She is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health to expand her capacity to address digestive health challenges at both individual and community levels.
