What inspired you to become a Naturopathic Physician and why/how do you focus on Gastro?  I was inspired to become a naturopathic doctor after my personal health journey with viral meningitis. Rather than pursuing pharmaceutical sciences like originally planned, I decided to pursue naturopathic medicine after it restored my health. Years of patient care had made me realize that many patients' conditions and ailments rose from gut dysfunction, which had led me to focus on gastro.

Describe your practice? (what GI diseases do you focus on and what modalities do you use)  Majority of my practice focuses on GI -- commonly around IBS, dysbiosis, IBD, stomach & gallbladder issues. Other parts of my practice focuses on hormones, long COVID and health optimization.

How has GastroANP impacted your practice?

GastroANP has been such an integral part of my practice, with so many brilliant doctors to learn from and vast resources that are provided to utilize when I'm in a pickle!

How can students or other doctors connect with you?

Emails, phone calls, social media connections, all of the above! As a student, I worked as a student ambassador to connect with prospective students. Through multiple residencies and even now, I'm honored to have connected with various students & doctors to pick my brain about ND school, being a naturopathic doctor, practicing in general, etc., which I love to share these insights with everyone!

Where did you go to ND school?

I went to Bastyr University - Kenmore campus. A beautiful campus within a beautiful state park!

What do you like to do outside of work?

I love to spend time with my husband, and our dog (Keys) & cat (Fufa) at home. Outside of that, I love going to botanical gardens, spending time with friends & family, trying new foods or just new hobbies -- my most recent hobby was pottery (I highly recommend if you are looking for some creative outlet!)

Where do you practice and what is your practice site?  I practice in Pasadena, CA -- My practice is 100% telemedicine so I get the opportunity to see patients all over the state!

At the GastroANP, we advance the philosophy, science, research and practice of naturopathic gastroenterology.
